The four seasons of our region present a set of striking contrasts. For example, the temperature can range from -30 degrees Celsius in winter to +25 degrees in summer.
Kainuu's autumn is a collage of gentle mists and burning colours. It is also the busiest time of the year in forests. People wander in the woods, filling their baskets with berries and mushrooms.
The snowy winter offers plenty of opportunities for activities such as cross-country skiing and snow mobile riding.
Amidst spring the ice and the snow melts and the whole nature awakens.
Summer is warm and filled with light.
